CURRENT PROJECTS OF THE STEWARDSHIP UNION |
UPDATED 2002 NOVEMBER 26
The Stewardship Union is largely confined at the moment to the United States, though it has members who have lived and even immigrated from elsewhere. The Union is represented in and near Atlanta, Boston, Cleveland, Columbus, Denver, Indianapolis, Missoula, New York, Philadelphia, Portland, Salt Lake, San Francisco, Seattle, Stockholm, and Washington.
The Stewardship Project, currently located in Indianapolis, is involved in a number of matters. Foremost among these is the organization of the Stewardship Union, and the dissemination of stewardship ideals by various means, including this internet site. There is also a periodic newsletter which can be subscribed to by contacting the Stewardship Project, project
the-stewardship.org (recent dispatches are available on the newsletters page). The Project has a particular focus on globalism, and is engaged in research on the cultural division of the world and methods of integration. Other research involves the nature of sovereignty, and the classification of states and other bodies in the world from a standardist perspective. (The results of much of this work are available on the research page.) Proposals under development include those for a global response force for disaster, an ecologically-sound, functional city, and a standardist state designed to be both just and rational. (These proposals are described on the policies page.)
Other activities of individual members of the Union include conservation, medicine, education, epidemiology, volunteer organization, coalition building, social and political reform, public policy, social work and therapy, public safety, subsistence agriculture, gardening and seed preservation, wilderness survival preparedness, and (lest we forget the stewardship involved) the raising of children.
